Currently in production, Seed in the Sand will be the second stop-motion animated feature by Christiane Cegavske, creator of the underground phenomenon Blood Tea and Red String, called by Variety, “A David Lynchean fever dream on Beatrix Potter Terrain.” 

 

Cegavske once more taps into the uncanny possibilities of stop-motion animation with Seed in the Sand. Doll sirens sing and sand waves crash on rocky shores in a dreamlike world that is part dystopian science fiction, part creature feature, and part magical fable. 

 

No human dialogue is spoken. The creatures speak and sing in animal or bird-like voices provided by a variety of musicians: Gitane Demone of Christian Death, Suzi Gardner of L7, and Karie Jacobson of The Dagons and Orchids of Jupiter.
